The Nomad Chronicles
The Nomad Chronicles is my personal record of a time spent being homeless. All entries are continuations of the post before, all entries are written in a fictional prose.
I have always found it hard to conform to the rules of society, a trait that I am sure my Mother shared as well. I didn’t have a conventional upbringing, in fact it was a habit of my Mother to discriminate against the traditional capitalistic societal structures. I started school very late, my family practically boycotted the financial system etc.
Coming into independence I was torn between the two worlds I knew. On one hand there was normal society that promoted to me a life path including a 9 to 5 job, buying a house, getting married, having a superannuation fund. On the other there was the life I had known and lived for a large portion of my life. A life free from rules. A life of leisure. A life in which I was a social outcast.
I want a life of happiness. It is all I know for certain. When I look at modern life, I see the obvious; social media broadcasting celebrities on yachts, 24/7 news coverage of mass shootings and melting ice caps, a civilisation that runs on the seven deadly sins. I think that we are destroying our world because we are all so destroyed, so polluted with lies.
So I decided that I would become a vagabond. An adventurer. A wanderer. Follow my journey to see if I find happiness, and then maybe it will inspire you.
“A writer can do nothing for men more necessary, satisfying, than just simply to reveal to them the infinite possibility of their own souls.” ~ Walt Whitman
